امریکی صدر ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ نے اسرائیلی انتخابات میں اپنے اتحادی اور موجودہ وزیراعظم بن یامین نیتن یاہو کی باضابطہ حمایت کا اعلان کرتے ہوئے اسرائیلی عوام سے انہیں دوبارہ وزیراعظم منتخب کرنے کی اپیل کر دی۔
سوشل میڈیا پلیٹ فارم ٹروتھ سوشل پر جاری بیان میں ٹرمپ نے نیتن یاہو کو ”عظیم جنگجو وزیراعظم“ اور امن کا شراکت دار قرار دیتے ہوئے ان کی تعریف کی اور ایران کے خلاف جنگ میں امریکا کا ساتھ دینے پر بھی اسرائیلی وزیراعظم کو سراہا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ نیتن یاہو نے سخت مخالفت، حتیٰ کہ اسرائیل کے اندر سے ہونے والی مخالفت کے باوجود مضبوطی اور بہادری کا مظاہرہ کیا۔ اسرائیل کے آئندہ انتخابات میں نیتن یاہو کے علاوہ کوئی اور رہنما منتخب ہوا تو امریکا کو خود ایران کے خلاف کارروائی مکمل کرنا پڑے گی، جس کے لیے وہ آمادہ نہیں ہیں۔

امریکی صدر نے اسرائیلی عوام کو مخاطب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ان کے بیان کو نیتن یاہو کے دوبارہ وزیراعظم منتخب ہونے کے لیے مکمل اور بھرپور حمایت سمجھا جائے۔
دوسری جانب خبر رساں ادارے کی رپورٹ کے مطابق یہ واضح نہیں کہ ٹرمپ کی حمایت سے نیتن یاہو اور ان کی دائیں بازو کی جماعت لیکوڈ کو 27 اکتوبر کے قومی انتخابات میں کتنا فائدہ پہنچے گا۔
