Islamabad, Rawalpindi finally receive much-needed rain

rain in Islamabad today

ISLAMABAD: In a welcomed relief for the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, the twin cities experienced a gradual light rainfall following a period of fog and poor air quality on Friday morning.

The light rain commenced around 6 AM, making its presence felt in numerous commercial and residential areas of both Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

This development is anticipated to have a positive impact on the air quality in Islamabad.

Today’s rainfall is expected to lead to clearer skies and a reduction in fog, which had previously posed travel challenges due to low visibility in key areas of both cities.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department had earlier forecasted rain in Islamabad and snowfall on the scenic Murree hills, providing a promising end to the prolonged dry winter spell.

The Meteorological Department expressed optimism that this forecast brings hope to various cities, including Islamabad and Rawalpindi, in their efforts to combat dry weather conditions.
