Independent candidate from Bajaur shot dead while campaigning

BAJAUR: An independent candidate for provincial and national assemblies from Bajaur was shot dead on Wednesday morning during election campaign.

According to HUM News sources, Rehan Zeb Khan was shot during electioneering campaign. He was shifted to AHQ Khar in a critical state where he succumbed to his wounds.

Rehan was a former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member. However, in this election, he was contesting against PTI-backed candidate as an independent candidate.

The firing incident took place in Siddiqabad area, police sources said. Three more people were also injured in the attack, who have been shifted to the hospital, police said.

Rehan Zeb was a candidate for NA-8 Bajaur.
