Sarah Khan shares her reasons for choosing ‘Namak Haram’

KARACHI: The highly anticipated drama serial “Namak Haram” is set to make its debut on November 3, 2023 on Hum TV, and fans can’t wait to see Sarah Khan return to the television screen.

Sarah will be starring alongside Imran Ashraf. She recently revealed the intriguing reasons behind her choice to accept the script.

Directed by Shaqielle Khan, produced by Momina Duraid, and written by Saqlain Abbas, “Namak Haram” promises a unique storyline and an exceptional cast. Sarah Khan, in a recent statement, shared her motivations for taking on this project, saying, “The story is also very different, which you will enjoy. I can’t reveal too much about the story right now.”

She went on to express her curiosity about the title’s significance, stating, “I was curious to know about the one who was the real negative character as per the title, and then I also heard about the brilliant cast. This includes Imran Ashraf and Babar Ali, so after hearing about the story and cast I instantly decided to go for it.”

In “Namak Haram,” Sarah Khan will portray the character Asma, described as a balanced individual striving to harmonise her worldly life with her religious beliefs. Sarah explained, “Asma is a balanced personality; she keeps the world and religion together. She is not perfect but she tries to practice Islam as much as she can. She wants to learn the Quranic translation and tries to cover her head with a dupatta.”

Fans of Sarah Khan and Imran Ashraf will be delighted to see them share the screen once again, following their successful pairing in the hit drama “Raqs-e-Bismil.” The dynamic duo had previously teased their fans about collaborating on another project back in April 2023 when they expressed their desire to reunite the characters Moosa and Zohra from “Raqs-e-Bismil.”
