Saudi authorities arrest Indian blogger

ISLAMABAD: The Saudi security forces have arrested an Indian blogger Zahack Tanvir for actions deemed detrimental to the interests of the Saudi Kingdom.

Zahack, known for his support of Indian Prime Minister Narendar Modi and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was taken into custody and is currently in jail.

The details of his arrest and the exact charges against him are being investigated.

It is pertinent to mention that the Saudi authorities have not officially confirmed the arrest nor have they disclosed the charges against Tanvir.

Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Saudia Arabia has also not issued an official statement regarding the arrest.

Tanvir, the Indian blogger, is a Saudi-based Non-Resident Indian and is the director, founder, and editor of Milli Chronicle Media England where he promotes pro-Modi and Pro-RSS views.

Claiming to be a Muslim in his bio on X, he also claims of being an “anti-Islamist” emphasising his stance against extremist ideologies while practicing his faith.

Shared on X, a video showed him critcising the protesters who called for a ceasefire in Gaza and an independent state of Palestine.

In a video, he claimed that teenagers in the West may join radical organisations more lethal than ISIS.
