WEB DESK: In a significant development, Pakistan’s Mobile Device Manufacturing Policy has taken concrete shape, attracting a whopping investment of $200 million.

Reliable sources have revealed that major players in the mobile industry have actively participated, ushering in a new era of local manufacturing.

Under the ambit of the Mobile Device Manufacturing Policy, an impressive 33 licenses have been issued to mobile phone manufacturing companies, leading to the creation of employment opportunities for over 40,000 individuals.

This marks a substantial boost to the country’s economy and job market.

The sources further disclosed that the policy has propelled Pakistan into the forefront of mobile device production, with almost all leading brands now manufacturing their devices within the country.

Since the inception of the policy in 2021, more than 500 million mobile devices have rolled off the production lines.

Notably, the positive impact of this policy extends beyond the production of mobile phones. Over one and a half crore mobile phones have been exported from Pakistan, showcasing the global competitiveness of the locally manufactured devices.

Furthermore, the local production of packaging materials, chargers, batteries, and handsfree units has not only streamlined the industry but also contributed to the overall growth of related sectors.

It’s worth mentioning that the Mobile Device Manufacturing Policy received the green light from the Cabinet in June 2020, and its subsequent implementation has proven to be a game-changer for the country’s technology and manufacturing landscape.

This investment influx and successful local manufacturing underscore Pakistan’s commitment to fostering innovation and economic growth in the digital age.
