RAWALPINDI: The judge hearing the Toshakhana case against former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi was shifted to the Adiala prison hospital on Tuesday after his health suddenly worsened.

According to sources, the Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir’s medical examination was conducted in the Adiala jail hospital.

During the court proceedings, Bushra Bibi recorded her statement in the Toshakhana case.

Similarly, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan was handed a 27-point questionnaire. He will record his statement on Wednesday (tomorrow) in the same case.

The court will resume hearing in the Toshakhana case on Wednesday (tomorrow).

Earlier, the PTI founder filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the accountability court’s verdict in the Toshakhana case. Imran Khan’s legal representatives Barrister Salman Safdar and Advocate Zaheer Abbas submitted the petition.

The petition seeks to overturn the accountability court’s verdict and reinstate Khan’s right to be represented by a legal counsel of his own choice, instead of being represented by a state-appointed counsel.

The accountability court had previously deprived Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi of the right to cross-examine witnesses through their counsel in the Toshakhana case.
