Here are the names of 49 senators who will retire on March 3

ISLAMABAD: As many as 49 senators from all four provinces, Islamabad and formerly FATA will retire on March 3 after completing their six-year term in the upper house of parliament.

The retiring senators include Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, Leader of the House Ishaq Dar, Senator Mian Raza Rabbani and Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed among others.

According to sources, the 49 senators were elected in March 2018 will be relieved of their duties as senators after completing their term.

The retiring senators belong to various political parties, including 12 from the Pakistan People’s Party, 11 from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, eight from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, two from the Jamiat-Uema-e-Islam-Fazl, two from the National Party and one each from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, the Jamaat-e-Islami and the Pakistan Muslim League Functional.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

From Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the senators who will retire on March 3 are Behramand Khan Tangi, Dilawar Khan, Faisal Javed, Fida Khan, Azam Swati, Talha Mahmood Khan, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Dr Mehr Taj Roghani, Rubina Khalid and Pir Sabir Shah.

Punjab

From Punjab, the senators who will retire next month are Dr. Shahzad Waseem, Dr Asif Kirmani, Hafiz Abdul Karim, Kamran Michael, Ishaq Dar, Musadik Malik, Nuzhat Sadiq, Rana Mahmood ul Hassan, Seemi Zaidi and Shahin Khalid Butt.

Sindh

From Sindh, the senators who will retire are Anwar Lal, Dr Farogh Naseem, Rukhsana Zuberi, Imamuddin Shaukeen, Khalida Sikandar, Mian Raza Rabbani, Maula Bakhsh Chandio, Quratulain Marri, Syed Ali Shah Jamote, Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah and Syed Waqar Mehdi.

Balochistan

From Balochistan, the senators who will retire are Abida Azeem, Ahmed Khan, Maulvi Faiz Ahmed, Akram Khan, Sadiq Sanjrani, Tahir Bizinjo, Naseebullah Bazai, Sana Jamali and Sardar Shafiq Tareen.

Islamabad

From Islamabad, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed and Senator Asad Ali Khan Junejo, who were elected in March 2018, will also retire from the Senate on March 3, 2024.

FATA

From former FATA, the senators who will retire are Hilal-ur-Rehman, Shammim Afridi, Mirza Khan Afridi and Senator Hidayatullah Khan.
