Canada agrees to welcome more workforce from Punjab

Mohsin Naqvi announces job opportunities for Pakistani youth

LAHORE: Canada has informally given its consent to allow more workforce from Punjab.

The informal consensus was reached during a meeting between Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi and Canadian High Commissioner Leslie Scanlon on Thursday.

Naqvi said that Pakistani youth will soon be able to migrate to Canada to explore employment opportunities.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to send manpower to Canada for work. A formal agreement in this regard will be signed this month, Naqvi said.

Besides discussing the employment initiative, the two sides also explored collaboration in other areas, including environmental protection. This is particularly crucial given that Lahore currently ranks as one of the most polluted cities in the world.

A delegation from the Punjab government will visit Canada later this month for the formal signing of the agreement.
