BENONI: Australia secured their spot in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup final by defeating Pakistan at the Sahara Park Willowmoore Stadium in Benoni, South Africa.

Opting to bowl after winning the toss, Australia’s decision paid off as they restricted Pakistan to 178 runs in 48.5 overs to score 181 runs with a wicket to spare.

Arafat Minhas scored the highest for Pakistan with 53 runs off 62 balls, supported by Azan Awais’s 52 runs off 91 balls.

Meanwhile, Tom Straker was the standout bowler for Australia, claiming six wickets for just 24 runs in 9.5 overs.

Australian batsmen struggled against the onslaught of Pakistani bowlers. Harry Dixon scored a crucial half-century, scoring 50 runs off 75 balls, while Ollie Peake contributed 49 runs off 75 balls.

Despite a strong bowling effort from Ali Raza, who took four wickets while yielding 34 runs, the Australia batsmen managed to hold on and the win the match.

With this victory, Australia has advanced on to the final, where they will face India.
