Sheikh Rasheed all set to launch election campaign

ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed declared the initiation of his election campaign during a press briefing outside the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad on Saturday. As the leader of the Awami Muslim League, he emphasized his commitment to contesting from two seats in Rawalpindi, acknowledging the challenges inherent in the electoral process.

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed revealed his intention to submit nomination papers for three constituencies, with plans to actively vie for two of them. He outlined the launch of his election campaign from Lal Haveli following the submission of the nomination papers.

The former minister is currently involved in a vandalism case registered at the Kohsar police station, and the Judicial Magistrate Chaudhry Mehmood presided over the proceedings. Sheikh Rashid, accompanied by his lawyer Sardar Shehbaz, presented himself before the court to address the allegations.
