PM Kakar: SIFC is ray of hope for economic development

ISLAMABAD: Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has said that the government would maximise the utilisation of the platform to advance the developmental agenda.

According to, PM Kakar has termed the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) as a ray of hope for Pakistan’s economic advancement.

The reports said that during a meeting focused on the workings of SIFC, PM Kakar stressed the government’s commitment to enhancing different sectors under the council’s scope.

He instructed the relevant authorities to bring the regulatory framework in line with modern international standards to enhance the energy sector.

During the meeting, the interim premier also said that Pakistan had massive potential for foreign investment in the fields of agriculture, mining and minerals, information technology, energy, and defence production, highlighting the nation’s appeal to international investors.

Meanwhile, SIFC Secretary Jahanzeb Khan and Implementation Secretary Jameel Ahmed Qureshi provided the prime minister with an overview of the initiatives taken to strengthen foreign direct investment.

The reports said that the meeting disclosed that through the forum, the government aimed to offer a streamlined avenue for investors to engage in diverse projects.
