Sindh approves jobs for families of 762 deceased employees


KARACHI: The Sindh government approved various jobs under the deceased quota for the families of 762 deceased employees in 29 governmental departments.

A meeting over the quota, fixed for the legal heirs of the government employees who died during service, was presided over by Sindh Chief Secretary Sohail Rajput. All the relevant secretaries of the concerned departments were also present.

Who will head Sindh’s interim setup?

Out of the approved jobs, 93 were approved for the Department of Health, 11 in Livestock, and 61 in Municipalities.

Up to 14 jobs were approved for the Population Welfare Department, 294 in School and Education, 46 in Works Services, and 14 in Public Health Engineering.

Since 2018, Sindh has registered up to 13,000 next of kin of deceased employees. Chief secretary Sohail said that quota policy is going to be under review.

He directed the Law Department to share the draft policy with the relevant departments when it is finalised.

Sindh cabinet enhances martyred police officials’ package

Yesterday, the Sindh cabinet also deliberated the enhancement of compensation for the families of fallen police officers, in a meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

The meeting was told that presently, an amount of Rs10 million was being provided to the heirs of the martyred officers.
