Saudi vice FM meets Bilawal


ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Vice Foreign Minister Waleed Abdulkarim El Khereji met with Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, as part of a visit regarding talks on Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). 

The Saudi Foreign Ministry tweeted that the two sides reviewed their strong relations and discussed ways to develop ties in various field. They also discussed “intensifying joint coordination in many topics, along with the developments in the international arena, and efforts made thereon.”

The Foreign Office spokesperson said in a press release that the Saudi minister is leading a high-level and representative delegation with members from the country’s various ministries, including foreign affairs, energy, health, environment and agriculture, investment, and more.

On Tuesday, the visiting minister also held a meeting with State Minister Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, during which they reportedly discussed regional and global mutual interests.

Khar appreciated the kingdom’s interest in exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan and apprised the Saudi delegation of the constitution of a Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to facilitate and fast-track potential investments from the GCC member states.

The visit signals Saudi Arabia’s interest in taking on and investing in shared development projects.
