Rawalpindi police arrest suspect for allegedly raping teenage neighbor

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi police on Tuesday arrested a man accused of raping his teenage neighbour after threatening to shoot her.

The incident took place in the Nai Abadi area of the garrison city.

According to media reports, Sub-Inspector Sikandar Azam, tasked with investigating the case, stated that the police would request the suspect’s physical remand from the court for a DNA test.

Meanwhile, he noted that the girl had undergone a medical examination, but the report had not yet been released.

The suspect is a 25-year-old salesman. A First Information Report (FIR) of the incident on August 11 was filed on Monday at Dhamial police station on behalf of the girl’s uncle under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with rape.
