Punjab CTD arrests 5 suspected terrorists in intelligence-based operations


LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted various intelligence-based operations across Punjab, resulting in the arrest of five suspected terrorists. The apprehended individuals, identified as Sharafat, Yaseen, Talha, Abdurrehman, and Usaid, were captured in operations carried out in Mianwali, Jehlum, Hafizabad, and Okara.

During the operations, the CTD recovered explosives, two IED bombs, 10 detonators, weapons, and cash from the terrorists. Additionally, in a separate intelligence-based operation on Benazir Road in Okara, two more terrorists were apprehended. Weapons, explosives, detonators, and batteries were confiscated from these individuals.

Furthermore, terrorists associated with a banned organization, Abdurrehman from Taxila and Talha from Faisalabad, were identified among those arrested. Additionally, in Karachi, a suspect allegedly involved in supplying arms and ammunition, Zahid, was detained from Hub River Road. The CTD claimed that Zahid had transported a significant quantity of weapons to Karachi.
