ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan on Thursday raised concerns over delays in the release of election results, alleging that the process is being hindered following victories by the party-affiliated independent candidates.
Omar Ayub Khan expressed these concerns in a video message on social media platform X, claiming that there have been reports of screens being shut down in the returning officers’ (Ros) offices in several areas.
Omar Ayub urged PTI workers to remain vigilant and to not leave the polling stations until they have obtained form-45, a crucial document detailing the election results.
He called upon the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to speed up the release of results and prevent any manipulation that could compromise the integrity of the electoral process.
Meanwhile, PTI leaders Omar Ayub Khan and Barrister Ali Zafar thanked the public for their support and active participation in the electoral process, despite what they say is “state intervention and pre-election rigging”.
They praised Imran Khan’s steadfast commitment to constitutional principles and democracy, highlighting the party’s confidence in securing victories in many constituencies.
Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari voiced similar sentiment.
The chairman took to X to share that “results are incredibly slow coming in”.
However, he expressed hope as “initial results are very encouraging!”
