PM Kakar to address UNGA session on Sept 22


ISLAMABAD, (INP): Caretaker Prime Minister (PM) Anwaarul Haq Kakar will address the 78th meeting of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 22 (Friday), it was learnt on Thursday.

Kakar is set to engage in meetings with various heads of state, while the Prime Minister will also be in attendance at the dinner hosted by President Joe Biden of the United States.

The commencement of the general debate session is scheduled for September 19, with Brazil taking the honor of declaring it open. President Biden is slated to be the second world leader to address the General Assembly on that same day. It’s worth noting that the UN General Assembly serves as the central policymaking organ of the United Nations.

According to Dawn, Kakar will apparently be the first interim prime minister to represent Pakistan at the UN General Assembly.
