Palestine solidarity rallies to be held in Islamabad today

ISLAMABAD: Several religious and political organizations are set to stage rallies in condemnation of Israel’s ongoing aggression and in solidarity with the innocent people of Palestine at various locations within the federal capital.

Mufti Shafi-ur-Rehman, spokesperson of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Islamabad Chapter, revealed that the workers and supporters will convene at Aabpara Chowk after the Juma prayer. District, provincial, and central leaders will address the participants, shedding light on the historical ties between the two nations.

Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan will lead a rally from Asna Ashri Masjid and Imam Bargah after Juma prayer, culminating at China Chowk.

Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq Haqqani, the Amir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Sami), has called upon all political and religious parties, as well as the general public, to mark this Friday as ‘Unity Day for Palestine’ and ‘Freedom for Al-Quds Day.’ He stressed that the day should not merely be a display of solidarity but also an opportunity to offer prayers for the oppressed Palestinian people.

The Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Islamabad Chapter has declared its intention to observe ‘Palestine Solidarity Day’ on Friday and host a ‘Palestine Solidarity Conference’ on October 17 to express unwavering support for the Palestinians.

Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Chairman of the PUC, stated, “Pakistan stands in solidarity with our Palestinian brethren in light of recent events, for which Israel bears responsibility.”
