No concession would be given to defaulters and power thieves: Kakar

ISLAMABAD: Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar announced on Monday that the government will swiftly take action against defaulters and those involved in power theft.

Kakar made those remarks while presiding over a meeting held to review the power sector. During the meeting, the Prime Minister received a briefing on the total electricity generation capacity, installed capacity, actual generation, and power distribution in different weathers.

“Immediate action should be taken against defaulters of electricity dues in collaboration with provinces and law enforcement agencies”, said the PM.

The caretaker Prime Minister emphasized the importance of developing plans for small hydel projects under expert guidance. He noted that these projects could not only produce affordable electricity but also contribute to mitigating the negative impacts of climate change.
