Nawaz Sharif holds consultative meeting with economic experts

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif held an important consultative meeting with economic experts in Lahore to thrash out a plan to provide relief to the people from inflation.

According to a spokesperson for the PML-N, Shahbaz Sharif also participated in the meeting, where reforms and suggestions for solving the country’s economic problems were discussed.

The spokesperson said that the meeting finalized the economic plan to provide relief to the people from inflation.

The spokesperson said that the meeting also deliberated on the points to end the energy crisis, reduce the prices of electricity and gas bills and prepare a package for the development of agriculture, industry, and IT sectors.

The spokesperson said that policy points were also discussed to provide employment and skill development for the youth.

The spokesperson said that the package also included special concessions for agriculture based on solar energy.

The huddle also finalized plan to provide relief to domestic consumers in electricity bills. Preferences were also set for large projects for education, health, and infrastructure.

According to spokesperson, the meeting agreed to increase collective economic activities gradually, and the economic plan was finalized in the light of the experts’ suggestions.

Principles were also thrashed out to reduce the interest rate, and reforms in industrial and export sectors were also agreed upon.
