Maulana Fazlur Rehman meets Taliban’s chargé d’affaires in Islamabad


ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday held a meeting with Afghanistan’s Charge d’Affaires in Islamabad, Sardar Shakib Ahmad, at his residence.

During the meeting, Sardar Shakib Ahmad extended an invitation to Maulana Fazlur Rehman to visit Kabul on behalf of the Afghan Interim Government.

Senior Journalist Iftikhar Firdous, commenting on the meeting in a post on the social media platform ‘X’, remarked, “Talks with TTP to shed violence are on his agenda.”

The meeting is taking place at a time when the Army chief is on a visit to the United States to discuss issues including the attacks being conducted in Pakistan by Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP).
