CHAMAN: Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leader Manzoor Pashteen was arrested on Monday during his journey from Chaman to Turbat in Balochistan.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, routine checks by police, Levies, and FC near the Chaman Gate escalated when armed individuals accompanying Pashteen attacked officers instead of complying with the vehicle inspection, prompting officers to fire at the tires of Pashteen’s vehicle.

Subsequently, Pashteen and the armed group fled, but after a search operation, he was later arrested from a warehouse. The Deputy Commissioner said that a case of firing has been registered against Manzoor Pashteen.

According to the spokesperson of the PTM, Pashteen addressed the All Parties Traders Labour Strike today. While going from the sit-in to Quetta, the officers fired at Manzoor Pashteen’s vehicle near the Chaman Press Club.

The spokesperson said that 8 bullets hit the vehicle, a woman was injured and is being treated in hospital.

According to the PTM spokesperson, Manzoor Pashteen returned to Chaman with his companions and presented himself for arrest.
