Show cause notices issued to Lahore schools for missing admission targets

LAHORE: Hundreds of government schools across Punjab have fallen short of meeting the admission targets for the current academic year.

Following this, a decision has been made to replace school principals who failed to achieve the specified admission goals.

The District Education Authority of Lahore has taken action by identifying and issuing show cause notices to 30 high schools in Lahore that did not meet the set admission targets.

Among the schools issued notices are prominent institutions such as Government Girls High School Singhpura, Government Muslim League High School Empress Road, and Government Understanding Girls Wahdat Road.

Additionally, Govt. Sheikh Sheikh Sardar Garhi Shahu, Government Girls Junior Model Multan Road, and Government Girls High School Gulberg are included in the list.

Other schools receiving notices comprise Government High School Jalu Station, Government School Padana, and Islamia School Ichhra.

Notably, Government High School Railway Colony Mughalpura, Government Girls School Umar Block Iqbal Town, and APS Model Town have also been identified.

Furthermore, Government School Shahdara Town, Gwala Colony, and Muslim High School No. 2 civil lines are part of the institutions served with notices.

The list extends to Government Girls School Road Krishna Nagar, Government Islamia High School Cantt, and Government High School Walton.

These schools have been directed to fulfil the admission targets by January 15. Headmasters who fail to meet these targets will face dismissal from their positions, as per the directives issued.

The District Education Authority emphasises the importance of meeting admission goals to ensure quality education and effective school management.
