Islamabad police launches crackdown on illegal foreign residents

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have initiated an operation to address the issue of illegal foreign residents within the city.
During the operation, a total of 1,126 individuals were subjected to scrutiny by the Islamabad Police. Among them, 503 individuals were found to be lacking the necessary identification documents.
According to Islamabad Police officials, those individuals found without proper documentation were presented before the courts under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act.

Meanwhile, the officials urged citizens to report cases of illegal residents, assuring that the identities of those reporting such cases will be kept confidential.
“Associating criminal elements with illegal resident foreigners is not correct, but providing them shelter or employment will be considered a punishable offense under the law,” the police added.
