IHC issues circular for hearing of Nawaz Sharif’s appeals

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is set to review Nawaz Sharif’s appeals against the sentences in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia references on November 27. A circular has been issued by the IHC Registrar Office, outlining the rules and regulations pertaining to Nawaz Sharif’s appearance.

Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb are designated to preside over the appeals, as mentioned in the circular. In anticipation of the event, the circular emphasises the necessity for robust security arrangements.

The circular mandates that entry into Court Room No. 1 will be restricted to individuals possessing security passes issued by the Registrar’s Office. Furthermore, it specifies that 15 lawyers from Nawaz Sharif’s legal team, along with five government lawyers representing the Attorney General and Advocate General, will be permitted access to the courtroom.

In addition, the circular notes that 30 journalists affiliated with the IHC Journalist Association will be granted entry, subject to the outlined guidelines. Notably, employees of the IHC are exempted from the requirement of entry passes, simplifying access for court personnel.

The upcoming hearing holds significance in the legal proceedings involving Nawaz Sharif, and the circular serves as a comprehensive guide for the stakeholders involved in the legal process.
