Hundreds of millions recovered from authority official in Sindh

KARACHI: Karachi police apprehended a senior Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) officer for allegedly being involved in illegal construction in the metropolis on Saturday.

Sources revealed that the assistant director of SBCA, Sarfaraz Jamali, was arrested and a sum of Rs220 million, in cash, was recovered from his car.

The recovered money was allegedly being transferred to the people working for an ‘influential person’, insiders say.

Jamali – was apprehended for allegedly running the ‘illegal construction system’ after the suspension of another SBCA officer Shahzad Arain.

The suspect has been transferred to an undisclosed location for further investigation. -INP
