LAHORE: The caretaker government of Punjab has decided to reinstate the free travel facility for students using Metro Buses and Orange Line Trains, considering the harsh weather conditions.

Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed officials to resume this service for the two major public transport projects.

Students up to class XII are eligible to benefit from this initiative, allowing them free travel on all Lahore Metro Buses and the Orange Line Train until the commencement of the summer vacation.

Notably, the provincial government had implemented free public transport for students last year in response to the rising oil prices.

However, just before the winter break, the government had temporarily suspended this service.

The good news now is that the free travel option has been reinstated on all metro bus Lahore routes and will remain in effect until the onset of the summer break.

To avail the free bus service, students must be in uniform and carry their school or college ID cards.
