Five dead in Kandhkot road accident


KANDHKOT: Five people were killed and several injured due to a collision between a truck and a passenger van on the Indus Highway.

According to rescue sources, a truck and a passenger van collided on Indus Highway at Karampur killing five people and injuring several.

All the deceased were sitting in the passenger van while 10 of the wounded were also travelling in the van.

After receiving the accident information, police and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the wounded to Civil Hospital for treatment. Doctors said condition of seven of the injured was very serious.

Police and rescue personnel were still trying to retrieve the bodies from the wreckage of the two vehicles.

The injured and the dead have been shifted to the nearby hospitals. The dead are yet to be identified.

The truck was on bound to Punjab from Karachi whilst the passenger van was going to Sukkur from Kandhkot. According to the police, the collision occurred due to fog on the highway.
