Balochistan’s interim cabinet likely to be finalised today

QUETTA: Deliberations concerning the composition of Balochistan’s caretaker Cabinet persisted on Monday, with a conclusive announcement regarding the individuals to be enlisted in the transitional advisory body anticipated by day’s end.
Insider sources suggest that the Cabinet is likely to comprise 10 to 12 members, with a pool of over 20 candidates presently under careful consideration.
There is also a prospect of appointing a female member, adding an element of diversity to the lineup.

Contemplations revolve around prominent figures such as Ahmed Ali, Mir Raman Mohammad Hassani, Sajid Dashti, and Shania Khan. The names of Shahryar Drani and Amjad Rashid have also entered the discourse. In addition, Fareed Dumar, Molvi Mahboobullah, Jan Achakzai, Obaid Gorgage, Agha Umar Bangulzai, and Attaullah Kakar remain as strong contenders in the selection process.
Indications point towards a preference for incorporating scholars affiliated with the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and leaders representing the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).
The formal swearing-in ceremony for the interim cabinet is poised to be held in Quetta later this evening.
