Army chief Gen Asim Munir visits Bannu: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir visited Bannu on Friday and inquired after the health of the people who were injured during the suicide bomb blast on Thursday.
During his visit to Bannu, Army Chief Gen Syed Asim Munir received briefings on ongoing operations and the overall security situation. He met with officers and soldiers, commending their dedication, the ISPR said in a press release.
Gen Asim Munir also visited the Combined Military Hospital and met with the people who were injured during the recent Bannu suicide bomb blast.

‘In this challenging time for Pakistan, the nation stood with the families of the martyrs,” the army chief said.
Talking about the attacks by the terrorists in Bannu, Gen Asim Munir stated that “such cowardly acts cannot weaken our resolve. He emphasised that “the sacrifices of our martyrs are the cornerstone of peace and stability in Pakistan”.
He reiterated the armed forces’ unwavering determination to eradicate the menace of terrorism from our homeland and bring lasting peace.
“Our brave armed forces are fully committed to eliminating this cancer of terrorism that plagues our nation.”
