ISTANBUL : Pakistani actress Zhalay Sarhadi has voiced her concerns regarding the ‘unfair’ auditions of the much anticipated Pak-Turkish collaboration, Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi.
Sarhadi took to her Instagram to express that individuals during auditions were “selected,” only to be left in the dark about their assigned roles.
Allegedly, many were informed that they had received a ‘golden ticket’ to be a part of the project during a publicised ceremony and through WhatsApp group messages. Yet, the lack of communication following the initial announcement has left aspiring actors questioning the nature of their roles.
The historical series is a collaborative effort between industry veterans from Pakistan and Turkey and boasts a star-studded cast, including Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Dr Kashif Ansari, Ahmet Faruk Bakacak, and Dr Junaid Ali Shah. It represents an ambitious and monumental project aimed at bringing history to life on screen.
Siddiqui, one of the producers, unveiled the much-anticipated teaser on his Instagram. The teaser provides a grand glimpse into the life and triumphs of Selahaddin Eyyubi.
The forthcoming period drama promises to transport viewers to an era of valour and honour, offering to unveil the grandeur of history.
The pivotal role of Sultan Selahaddin Eyyubi will be portrayed by Turkish actor Uğur Güneş, renowned for his debut in TRT’s famous historical series Diriliş: Ertuğrul, where he portrayed the character Tugtekin Bey.
To recreate the historical setting, Selahaddin Eyyubi is being filmed on an expansive set replicating the ancient city of Damascus. The meticulously designed set spans a vast 200-acre area and includes detailed reconstructions of mosques, bustling bazaars, grand palaces, and historic homes.
With the release date of “Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi” drawing near, fans and critics alike eagerly anticipate the epic portrayal of this revered historical figure and the grandeur of his achievements.
