Taylor Swift’s achievement comes in the wake of her release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), her third re-recorded album released in July. The album made a remarkable entrance at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 716,000 album-equivalent units.
Furthermore, the re-recorded version of Speak Now has positioned Swift as the first woman to ever have four albums simultaneously in the top 10 of Billboard’s album chart.
As Taylor Swift continues her US Eras Tour at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, she unveiled exciting news about her upcoming project 1989 (Taylor’s Version) set to debut in the fall. Swift had previously left subtle clues and Easter eggs for her fans, leading up to the album’s reveal on October 27.
According to Variety, while addressing her fans during the tour, the Look What You Made Me Do singer playfully stated, “So now, here we are on the last night of the US leg of the Eras Tour, in the eighth month of the year, and the ninth day.”
“There’s something that I’ve been planning for a really, really, really, ridiculously embarrassingly long time. And I think instead of just like telling you about it, I think I’ll just sort of show you something I’ve been excited to show you,” added Swift. As she spoke, the new album art for 1989 appeared on the screen behind her.
The momentum of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is set to continue as it embarks on its international leg through the fall of 2024. The tour’s massive popularity has led Swift to add 15 more North American dates, showcasing her strong influence and appeal.
