ISLAMABAD: Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s recent comments about Shah Rukh Khan have ignited a debate, leading to strong criticism from fans of Khan. A viral video on Twitter captures a woman questioning Nawazuddin Siddiqui about his films, asking if he has ever noticed that in every film of his, he performs similar characters.

In response to the question, Nawazuddin Siddiqui states, “I am such a stubborn person; I won’t ever allow myself to play such repetitive roles.” He goes on to explain that “typecast” actors are the ones who always play the heroes in films. He clarifies that “typecast” refers to the hero of the film. Continuing, he mentions Shah Rukh Khan, stating, “Who, for 35 years, continues to do such things.”

Following the viral video, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s remarks have drawn the ire of Shah Rukh Khan’s admirers.

A Twitter handle, presumably belonging to a fan of Khan, questions in a tweet, “What is Nawaz’s arrogance based on? What sort of mediocre actor is he?”

Responding to the tweet, another user named Mohat Sharma comments, “Besides hurling abuses in movies, he’s got nothing. Shah Rukh Khan has been working in the industry for more years than Nawaz has acted in films.”

A Twitter handle under the name ‘Shifted to Mars’ adds to the discussion, remarking, “This guy has failed at almost everything. No one likes to see him. Whether his movies are good or bad, people are dismissing him just as I avoid onions in my food.”
