HAMBUIRG: A significant police operation unfolded at a school in the Blankenese district, Hamburg, resulting in the arrest of four children and the confiscation of what appeared to be toy weapons.

The incident began when reports emerged that two young individuals at the school had made threats involving a firearm, prompting the evacuation of students from the premises.

Police spokesperson Holger Vehren informed the press that a thorough search of the school building was conducted by special forces, but no trace of the alleged perpetrators was found.

However, later on the same day, authorities responded to another “threat” near the school, which led to the detention of four children, including two 12-year-olds, a 13-year-old, and a 14-year-old.

It was subsequently revealed that the 12-year-old and the 13-year-old may have been involved in the earlier school-related incident. In connection with this, the police also seized two objects that resembled toy weapons.

The incident began when tactical forces were dispatched to the Blankenese district school around 11 am local time after receiving information about a potential threat.

According to reports, two young individuals, possibly students, had barricaded themselves in a classroom, with one of them allegedly making threats involving a firearm, including a threat to a female teacher.

As a precaution, the school was evacuated, and parents were directed to a nearby barracks where their children were taken care of. Police established cordons around the school, and helicopters were deployed to assist in the search for the two individuals responsible.

Police spokesperson Vehren mentioned that the teacher who was specifically threatened and students from the eighth-grade class would be interviewed as part of the ongoing criminal investigation.

Blankenese, situated along the Elbe River, is considered one of Hamburg’s more affluent districts, and the Blankenese district school serves approximately 1,150 students.
