LAHORE (Reuters) – A Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore held a hearing earlier today in the Askari Tower attack case against Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) member Sanam Javed Khan and others who were arrested following the riots on May 9.
The court sent her to jail on a 14-day judicial remand after police identified her presence in the military tower attack.
Judicial reman was granted after the court rejected the police’s plea for physical remand.
Previously, The ATC had issued an order for the release of Sanam Javed, Robina Jameel, Afshan Tariq, Ashma Shuja, Shah Bano, Faisal Akhtar, Qasim, Ali Hasan and Hussain Qadri in Jinnah House attack case but Punjab police re-arrested them shortly after their release from Kot Lakhpat Jail for alleged involvement in Askari Tower attack.
