Randy Orton’s comeback to remain uncertain?

STAMFORD: The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) creative team has reportedly not made any plans for the highly anticipated return of Randy Orton to the wrestling ring.

The media reports said that veteran superstar was diligently preparing for his comeback by focusing on building his physique post health complications.

As per the international media,  Orton’s WWE return was expected to be officially announced later in June but a delay occurred due to unforeseen complications.

The reports said that in May, the WWE had a target return date for Orton, although the specific date was not disclosed; it was noted that his return would not be during the summer but later in the year.

Meanwhile, Orton was yet to receive medical clearance for in-ring training or action. Sources revealed that there have been no substantial discussions about Orton’s future plans either.

As per the reports, despite being advised by doctors that wrestling may not be a wise choice in the future, Orton remained determined to return to the ring.

It is pertinent to note that a lower back fusion, the procedure Orton underwent, was relatively uncommon among professional wrestlers and poses uncharted territory for many in the industry.

As per the WWE sources, Randy Orton will not appear at the SummerSlam event, as he has not been included in any known creative plans. WWE is maintaining secrecy surrounding Orton’s potential return.

Orton’s last wrestling match was on the May 20, 2022 episode of SmackDown, after which he underwent lower back fusion surgery later that year. In late November, Orton’s father, WWE Hall of Famer Bob Orton Jr., assured fans that his son was “coming along” and would be back in action soon.
