PTI’s Sanam Javed, others re-arrested from Kot Lakhpat Jail

LAHORE:  Punjab police on Monday re-arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) women activists shortly after their release from Kot Lakhpat Jail.

The Anti-Terrorism Court, on Saturday, ordered their release on bail regarding the Jinnah House attack case, but the police re-arrested them again in connection with other cases.

The detained female PTI activists, including Sanam Javed, Afshan Tariq, Ashima Shuja, and Shah Bano, were granted bail by the court. However, they were arrested by the police outside the jail gate immediately after their release.

Judge Arshad Javed made this decision after surety bonds of Rs100,000 each were submitted as part of the bail process.

Upon receiving the bail bonds, the court issued a release warrant for the women and instructed the jail superintendent to facilitate the release of the female PTI activists.
