LAHORE: On Saturday, Hamza Shehbaz Sharif, the Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), said that his party is committed to prioritising Pakistan’s development.

Addressing the workers in Lahore, Hamza Shehbaz remarked, “I came here to inaugurate the election office, but your enthusiasm has transformed it into a vibrant rally. The February 8 election will decide the fate of the country.”

He expressed, “Our commitment is centered on fostering the development of Pakistan. While we could have merely observed the unfolding events, we chose to put our political interests on the line to rescue the country from crisis. We successfully averted a default situation and reinstated the IMF program, safeguarding the economic stability of the nation.”

Hamza further said, “I understand the challenges you face. There’s palpable concern within households about rising gas and electricity bills. The exchange rate has surged to Rs280 from the previous Rs105 during the tenure of the (N) League. Presently, the cost of one unit of electricity stands at Rs60, a significant increase from the Rs7 it was during our time.”
