PMD advises citizens to be extra cautious as dense fog likely to prevail in different parts of country tonight

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has advised citizens to exercise extra caution, as dense fog is likely to prevail in Islamabad, plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh tonight (Thursday).

The daily weather report issued by PMD on Wednesday states, “Dense fog is likely to continue in Islamabad, plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh. Due to continuously low daytime temperatures, very cold weather is likely to prevail in fog affected areas. Citizens are advised to be extra cautious.”

Cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while very cold in northern parts and north Balochistan. Dense fog/smog prevailed over Islamabad, Pothohar region, plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.
Today\\’s Recorded Lowest Minimum Temperatures (°C): Leh -12, Skardu -10, Kalam, Gilgit, Astore -07, Kalat, Gupis, Srinagar -05, Chitral, Mirkhani -04, Bunji, Dir, Hunza, Parachinar, Rawalakot and Quetta -03.
