KARACHI: A senior police officer in Sindh was sacked after he wrote to the provincial police chief and other officials, seeking permission to join the Palestinian fight against Israel, sources said.
Inspector Fiaz Ahmad, who was posted in Karachi, also offered to donate part of his salary to the Palestinian cause, the sources said.
The letter, which was also sent to several embassies in Islamabad, drew attention from the police force and the government, who viewed it as a breach of discipline and a security risk, the sources added.
Ahmad could not be reached for comment.
