PESHAWAR: National Democratic Movement leader and former MNA Mohsin Dawar along with several other people sustained injuries during an incident of firing in the Miranshah area of North Waziristan.

Reports suggest, the incident occurred when protestors, tired after days of waiting for election results, tried to enter the premises where the Returning Officer’s office is located.

Reports says the law enforcemnt intervened in an attempt to control the situation during which the former parliamentarian got injured when a bullet hit his leg.

Sources on the ground suggest that the hospital where Mohsin Dawar has been rushed is badly staffed, especially considering that the health department staff had been on duty as polling staff across the district.

Following the incident, two police personell have been reported dead while 12 individuals, including Dawar, injured as heavy firing ensued. More details are awaited.
