Metro bus fares to be raised from Oct 1

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad has announced a fare increase of Rs. 20 for the metro bus service, affecting all routes within the federal capital.

Effective October 1, commuters will experience the revised fares for the metro bus service.

Initially, officials had submitted a proposal to the CDA Board, recommending a fare increase of Rs. 30.

However, the board approved a fare hike of Rs. 20, resulting in a new fare of Rs. 50 for the metro bus service in Islamabad.

CDA officials cited a nearly doubled cost for the Metrobus service compared to the previous year’s tender as the reason for the fare adjustment.

These increased costs have posed significant challenges to the continued operation of the service.
