WEB DESK: In a significant development, the National Highways and Motorway Police, in collaboration with the Sindh Excise and Taxation Department, formalised a crucial partnership on Thursday.
They inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide the Motorway Police with real-time access to comprehensive data regarding vehicles registered in the province.
The MoU signing ceremony, graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including IG Sultan Ali Khawaja, Additional IG Munir Ahmed Sheikh, DIG Javed Ali Mahar, and provincial secretary for excise and taxation Atifur Rehman, marks a pivotal step in enhancing the efficiency of law enforcement on highways and motorways.
This strategic data sharing initiative holds immense significance as it empowers law enforcement agencies to verify the authenticity of vehicles traversing highways and motorways in real-time.
By enabling patrolling officers to identify suspicious and counterfeit vehicles promptly, this collaboration promises to significantly bolster the security infrastructure.
Both the National Highways and Motorway Police and the Sindh Excise and Taxation Department have expressed their unwavering commitment to sustaining this joint operation.
They are dedicated to closely monitoring the implementation of this data-sharing facility.
Furthermore, both entities have ambitious plans to expand this collaborative effort into other domains, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the overall commuting experience for the public.
