Kashmir Solidarity Day: Pakistan pledges support to struggle of Kashmiri people

ISLAMABAD: Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed on Monday to express whole hearted support of Pakistani nation to the just struggle of Kashmiri people for their inalienable right to self-determination under the UN resolutions.

The day has been declared a public holiday.

In a press release issued by the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, all arrangements have been made to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day today at home and abroad in a befitting manner.

It said that Solidarity walks will be organized across the country and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

One-minute silence was observed at 09:30 am to pay homage to the martyrs of Kashmir.

In connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, a rally has been taken out from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the constitution avenue in Islamabad.

Federal Minister of National Heritage and Culture Jamal Shah, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi, Minister for Privatisation Fawad Hassan Fawad,  Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmad, Secretary Foreign Affairs Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi and people belonging to different walks of life are amongst the participants of the rally.

They are raising slogans in support of Kashmiri people.

They are carrying banners inscribed with slogans highlighting the Indian atrocities in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Posters and billboards have been displayed around important Avenues, airports, and railway stations to highlight the plight of Kashmiri people.

In connection with the day, debate and declamation contests as well as essay writing competitions are being organized in educational institutions.


President Dr Arif Alvi, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and Forces Chiefs have said Pakistan will continue to extend its unstinted moral, diplomatic and political support for just solution to Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions and wishes of the Kashmiri people.

In his message on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, President Dr Arif Alvi said people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been struggling to realize their right to self-determination for last seventy-six years.

He said Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is one of the most militarized zones in the world.

In his message, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said  this is an occasion to pay rich tribute to sacrifices made by our Kashmiri brothers and sisters during the last seventy-six years.

He said relevant UN Security Council Resolutions provide that the final disposition of Jammu and Kashmir will be made in accordance with will of people of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed through democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite conducted under auspices of the United Nations.

The armed Forces of Pakistan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Services Chiefs have paid rich tribute to people of Kashmir for their resolve and valiant struggle, consistently braving grave human rights violations and inhumane lockdown in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir under Indian occupation forces.
