G-B chief minister seeks closer ties with Azerbaijan

ISLAMABAD (APP): Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Chief Minister Haji Gulber Khan expressed his desire to strengthen ties between the Gilgit-Baltistan and Azerbaijan.

During a meeting with Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khadr Farhado on Tuesday, the G-B chief minister emphasized the need for improved connectivity and proposed the establishment of sister city relationships between cities in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azerbaijan.

In the meeting, the chief minister called upon the government of Azerbaijan to support the development of key sectors in Gilgit-Baltistan, including energy, tourism, and agriculture. He also sought expanded opportunities for students from Gilgit-Baltistan to pursue higher education in Azerbaijan through the Students Exchange Programme.

G-B govt introduces fleet fuel cards to curb misuse of resources

Ambassador Farhado characterized the meeting with the G-B chief minister as “very pleasant” and lauded the breathtaking natural beauty of the Gilgit-Baltistan region. He pledged to relay all the recommendations of the G-B chief minister to his government.

The meeting was also attended by GB Minister for Women and Child Development, Dilshad Bano, among others.
