Fawad Chaudhary arrested in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhary was reportedly arrested from his residence in Islamabad, according to claims made by his wife on X, formerly Twitter.

On Saturday morning, Hiba Fawad Chaudhary posted “Fawad Arrested and taken to unknown place.” Fawad’s brother also confirmed the reports of arrest to the media.

The circumstances surrounding the arrest remain unclear, and Fawad Chaudhary’s current whereabouts have not been disclosed, raising concerns among his family and supporters. Fawad’s wife, stated that they are uncertain about his location following the arrest, and they seek information and assurance about his well-being.

Yesterday, the District and Sessions Court Islamabad granted pre-arrest bail to former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry till November 13 in the case of violation of Article 144.

A day earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s leader Asad Qaiser was also arrested from his residence in Islamabad. He was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate Islamabad on Saturday, after which the court ordered him to be kept in judicial lock-up.
