Elections 2024: How to cast your vote

Vote

ISLAMABAD: To cast your vote in the upcoming elections 2024 in Pakistan, follow these steps:

Find Your Constituency: Send a text message with your National Identity Card (NIC) number to 8300. You’ll receive information about your constituency, including the block code, serial number, and name of the electoral region.

Bring Essential Documents: Make sure to bring your original CNIC to the polling station. Photocopies and other documents won’t be accepted.

No Cellphones Allowed: Leave your cellphone at home or in a secure location, as they are not permitted inside polling stations.

Arrive Early: Voting will take place from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. To avoid long queues, try to arrive early during the day.

Queue and Verification: Wait for your turn in the queue. The presiding officer will verify your name and electoral number. Once verified, your name will be marked off the list, and you’ll be given two ballots.

Presiding Officer’s Verification: Ensure that the presiding officer signs and stamps the back of both ballot papers. Without these, your vote won’t be accepted.

Vote Casting: There will be two ballots provided: a white one for the provincial parliament and a green one for the national assembly. The presiding officer will imprint your thumb impression on the electoral rolls using a special ink.

Proceed to Voting Booths: After verification, proceed to the voting booths. Insert the green ballot paper into the green-topped box and the white ballot paper into the white-topped box.

Check for No Interference: Ensure that no one else is present or attempting to influence your vote.

Fold Ballot Papers: Once you’ve stamped both ballot papers, make sure the ink is dry before properly folding them.

Place Ballots in Boxes: Insert the green ballot paper into the green-topped box and the white ballot paper into the white-topped box.

By following these steps, you can successfully cast your vote in the elections 2024 and exercise your democratic right.
