WEB DESK: The government has officially announced that December 25, 2023, will be a public holiday in commemoration of the birthday of the nation’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
This coincides with Christmas Day, which is observed by the Christian community in Pakistan.
According to INP, the declaration, issued by the Cabinet Division, marks a dual celebration on December 25th. Official ceremonies and events are scheduled throughout the country to pay tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Jinnah’s life, political struggles, and significant role in the creation of Pakistan.
These observances will encompass television and radio broadcasts focusing on his legacy, along with school processions, marches, and scouting rallies.
Concurrently, the Christian community will observe Christmas festivities alongside the national holiday.
The iconic landmarks of Mazar Quaid, Quaid-e-Azam Museum, and Flagstaff House in Karachi will be illuminated in honor of both occasions.
The announcement of this public holiday aligns with the official 2023 public holiday schedule released earlier this year by the Cabinet Division.
