ISLAMABD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa issued an order on Saturday directing Inspector General of Islamabad Police (IGP) Dr Akbar Nasir Khan to personally visit the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and provide a detailed report on the reasons behind the raid.

During the hearing, the CJP inquired about the motive behind the police visit to the PTI leader’s house. In response, the IG explained that the police party had received information about a suspect being present at that location.

Chief Justice pressed further, seeking clarification on the identity of the individual for whom the police conducted the raid. The IG responded, “I will ascertain the details from Kohsar Police and provide you with the information.”

The comments were made during a session with a three-member bench, including the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, and Justice Musarrat Hilali. The bench was addressing the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) petition, which contested the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) ruling to reinstate the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s ‘bat’ election symbol.
